R60 modified BIOS

First of all, hello to all users.

I used a T43 (still in possesion). Than I got from a friend a dead r60e, got it to work, made other modifications. Long story made short, now its a R60 with T5600/3GB/X1400/1400x1050. Last upgrade was a SSD, its a Samsung 850 EVO 240GB. A T7600 or T7400 will follow.

Performance is more than sufficient for me, yes but there is a but..

I've read that even having a ssd drive there is a possibility to have a much better performance having a modified bios. Tried to find it but with no success. What exactly is needed to make a successful BIOS upgrade?

No. The R60's SATA ports are limited to SATA I speeds due to the chipset itself, and not a BIOS lock.

Thank you very much. So the only way is to change motherboard.

Upgrading to an R61 board, then applying the Middleton BIOS will allow SATA II speeds.
