Unable to login using Fingerprint reader after upgrade to Windows 10

#1 Post by khary23 » Tue Sep 01, 2015 10:39 pm

Yesterday I ungraded my W530's OS from Windows 7 to Windows 10. Since the upgrade I can no longer logon using the finger print reader and get the following error

"vista 5365-5456 autosubmit problem fingerprint log on"

I googled the error and got no results. Any help with this would be appreciated. Thanks

install the win7/win8 FPR software.   you might have to delete and re-enroll fingerprints.

This is what I did to use the fingerprint reader in my T410 to log on to Windows 10:

Pretty simple. It took like 5 minutes.

Slightly different problem. The fingerprint reader used to be available to start the computer. After installing 10 Pro, the LED is lit, but the reader does nothing. Once I get to the login (Hello) screen, I can use the reader to log in.

Start the computer? As in, power on using the fingerprint reader? I was unaware that Thinkpad's could do that.

I can assure you that in Win 7 I could start the computer with a finger swipe. It would also continue through the login with no pause to the desktop.

Very cool.

Interesting side note. I was watching a video on Lenovo's web site earlier today about the Thinkpad Carbon 2 and they mentioned it.

Slightly OT, but I can also confirm this feature works well (Windows 7 x64 on x230 Tablet) if you have "Password Required" when waking from Sleep or Hibernation.
