IBM i1400 on eBay

#1 Post by RealBlackStuff » Tue Sep 08, 2015 3:18 am

For those of you who collect oldies, here's a (rare?) i1400:

(No connection to seller.)
Only reason I found it, is that I often check for Thinkpads with password.
Taking care of those is one of my hobbies.

i Series 1400 is both a product family and a model. You point to a model i1412 (MTM 2611-412), which is not same thing as model i1400. If anyone wants to collect model from i1400 family, then get in touch with me. I have a nearly complete 1411 (instruction book and other papers, restore CDs, AC adapter, untouched spare TrackPoint caps, dead battery, IBM supreme case/bag with twenty pockets and sections by Port). Not complete: no original box.

i Series 1410 product family is a bit unusual, for its screen is fastened into lid by four rather large screws, drive type is Phillips size 2. I do not recall seeing Phillips size 2 in any other laptop / notebook PC.

FYI: those i14xx were made by Acer, hence the low(er) quality, compared to many other Thinkpads.
