T61p win 10 and power manager

#1 Post by pandimus » Tue Oct 06, 2015 4:45 pm

I've noticed that when I installed power manager, in win 7 compatibility mode, that I have extreme lagging and fx570m crashing. I've tried installing windows 10 power manager and it does nothing
Had anyone come across this problem and fixed it?

Power Manager is not officially supported on any Windows OS after W7. Now you know why. It's called "system instability"

I had PM working on a T61-based FrankenPad in W10, but not to its full potential. Having lost patience with the OS in question, I haven't looked into the matter any further.

Good luck.

WIn10 is the Lag. I dont think it qualifies as an Upgrade but rather a downgrade so I kicked it back to the curb where it belongs and went back to Wni7 x64 on that laptop, still sticking with XP x32 on my other. I dont own iphone or tablet so dont need an OS for one

I toyed with trying W10 on my T60p, but I get a warning that my fireGL V5250 graphics is not compatible. No W10 drivers available for it either from Lenovo or ATI.

No major loss though, W10 fits the average computer like those free t-shirts launched into crowds. "Touch Here", "Swipe Here", ect on a non-touch system.... what were they thinking? If te OS was at least smart enough to reflect the system it was installed on it wouldn't have that frumpy feeling you get when trying to use it.

You should be able to use Catalyst 10.2 drivers and Mobility Modder, at least that worked in Windows 7. My T60p took enough beating during its service life, I don't feel like punishing it further with Win10.

The more I read the more I am concluding W10 is a no go as far as older machines like a T61. W10 seems like a disaster. Windows ME back to the future?
