Hi,
I upgraded my X200 tablet to Windows 10, and then OpenGL was reset to v1.0 for lack of Intel Graphic Driver. Windows 10 gave me the WDDM 1.1 driver, which is not OpenGL optimized. Is there any way to upgrade to OpenGL >v2.0 on Windows 10?
Thanks!

Considering more Thinkpads. Retiring my X200T. PM me if anyone wants to home it.

The only idea I could think of is to try installing the Win7 driver. If the installer .exe won't let you install the driver, try a manual install.
The Lenovo driver installer actually does two steps, the first of which merely extracts the driver files into a directory (C:\Drivers by default IIRC) then runs the installer EXE at the end. You can uncheck the "Install the driver" to prevent it from running the actual driver installer EXE.
Manual installation is done by using Device Manager's "Install Driver" or "Update Driver" function, then navigating to the folder where the relevant *.inf files are. It's probably in C:\Drivers\Video\Graphics or similar.

I have tried this, and it doesn't work. When I run the exe file in various ways, it either reported an unclear error or reported it "doesn't meet the minimum requirement". I have also tried to modify the Certificate of the original Win 7 intel driver by adding Win 10 supporting info, but no luck...

been there, cut that
I had the same issue last year when trying Windows 8. Ultimately, the brokenness of the WU-provided driver led me to just restore my Windows 7 backup image. Even in Windows 7 (at least the 64bit version), things can be a little buggy at times, but it is at least serviceable. Unfortunately, for the features that Windows 8, 9, and 10 have to offer, the lack of good video drivers for that Intel card prevent these from ever being great Windows 8/9/10 machines. If anyone finds a new driver that plays nice with those systems though, by all means, please enlighten usi2000s wrote:I have tried this, and it doesn't work.
