Replace screen in W540

So I found a good offer on a W540, however it does have that supposedly "dreadful" 1080p TN panel.
I was wondering if it would be possible to replace it with a IPS version? I see that laptopscreen.com has these:

Even the 3K one, however they do not mention that it is IPS, weird.

Are the display connector the same on all configurations of the W540?

There are two LCD cables. The 3K LCD uses a different cable. The lid and bezel are different between the 3k and the other LCD's too.
