Graphics Issue_Vertical Bars

#1 Post by J888www » Sun Oct 18, 2015 6:52 pm

Greetings,

T60p_T7600_FireGL V5200_BOE Hydis 1600x1200_Samsung SSD EVO250_4GB RAM_Wins 7 Ultimate.

I don't have the laptop on hand as it was surfing over the seas prior to this graphics issue with vertical bars/lines.
It remains the same when boot into BIOS.
When connected to an old external monitor, it still remains, so it is determined that it's not screen issue.
It is the same even when booting from cold (after long period of inactivity).
This issue began just after a major Windows update, a couple of Months ago, if I record correctly it contained a update for FlexView LCD (on a different T60p)...

I am wondering if anyone come across this issue, whether it's the GPU, over heating or Drivers................etc etc.

Any opinion will be most appreciated.

GPU failed, motherboard replacement is necessary. Make sure thermal compound is applied to both CPU and GPU silicon dies (not heatsink, also make sure you have a thermal pad intact for the northbridge die) while swapping motherboards.

Seconded. Thankfully, these boards are not expensive anymore and the swapping process is fairly simple.

Good luck.

Does anyone know whether the T60/T60p Motherboards are compatible for different models ? I mean would a Motherboard from a 14.1" model fit into a 15" model and vice versa ?
Obviously screens, bezels etc etc would not be compatible but if Motherboards have the same dimensions and same positioning of the bolt holes.............

Anyone know the P/N for a T60p Motherboard with FireGL V5200 ?

Thank you in advance.

All T60/p motherboards from both 14.1" and 15" NON-WIDE models will fit in any other NON-WIDE T60/p.

Click on the HMM link at the top of this page for mobo P/N and a lot of other instructions.

Yes, a Motherboard from a T60 14.1" model will fit into a T60 15.0" model with the interposer card attached.
