SOLD: Thinkpad T61 model 8897
Up for sale is a LenovoThinkpad T61 model 8897-02U
Intel T7300 core 2 duo @ 2 GHz CPU with Intel graphics
Middleton BIOS installed (version without switch of CTRL and FN keys) BIOS version 2.29 (7LETC9WW / 2011-03-18 / 1.08
4 GB memory
250 GB 7200 rpm WesternDigital SATA hard drive plus additional 100 GB PATA drive in ultrabay hard drive caddy
1400 x 1050 pixel display (upgrade from original 1024 x 768 display), No dead pixels that i can spot. There is a small scratch on the glass in the upper right hand corner of the display but this is not noticeable under normal conditions of use.
Operation Systems: dual boot 32 bit Windows XP and 64 bit XUbuntu linux 14.04. There is a Microsoft COA but the name of the relevant OS has completely worn off.
DVD Multi reader / Burner
Fingerprint reader on palmrest. (I have no idea if this actually works - I've never tried to use it.)
Intel wireless N wifi card
AC Adapter power supply + 9 cell 3rd party battery (holds 1 to 2 hour charge)
Complete set of Recovery Disks if you ever want to install Windows XP from scratch (ugh!)
I would say basic condition is 'good'.

Re: Thinkpad T61 model 8897 for sale
An important piece of info is that this is an Intel graphics unit and as for the COA, it's probably vista but by special agreement you are allowed to use XP on these machines with the vista license and if the buyer wishes an easier way to reinstall XP without jockeying seven discs I could send them a single disc that has a more upto date version of XP on it or a vista disc with sp2 integrated, 32 or 64bit, and this system is fully 64bit capable.
Good luck with your sale

Re: Thinkpad T61 model 8897 for sale
I would like to buy this T61 (for use to build a 15" UXGA FlexView/IPS T60/61 FrankenPad)... if you had been based in Europe, and had not lived in Canada...
Explanation: The cost of shipping from Canada to Denmark, plus the import TAX and -duty on top of this, will probably altogether add up to almost as much as the cost of the laptop itself - so much less attractive "in the end", unfortunately, sigh. Why don't you just live over here in Europe, aaaargh!!
Good luck with the sale nonetheless - and someone really ought to pick this up T61; either to be used "as is" or to transplant its motherboard into a 15" T60 frame, and add a SXGA+ or UXGA FlexView/IPS LCD to form a fast, classic, lovely 4:3 ThinkPad!
