LCD TAB re-bonding

#1 Post by Bibin » Tue Nov 24, 2015 8:53 pm

So in my frankenpad build thread I've shown that my HV150UX1-101 has many horizontal lines at the bottom. However, if I torque the screen counter-clockwise from the top, the lines vanish!

I'm led to believe that with careful re-bonding of the TAB connections on the left side of the LCD panel itself, the issue could be resolved. Does anyone here have experience with TAB bonding? This could save a lot of UXGA HFFS screens as this is not the first time I've seen this failure mode.
Give your T43/T43p/R52/X41 the SATA it deserves! http://mikejmoffitt.com/sata

Other than adding some carton/paper between LCD and bezel, never tried other things.
