The lightest 14" laptop? UPDATE: LG now has a 2.2lb 15.6-incher!
I just learned about this amazingly light 14" FHD laptop:
http://www.lg.com/us/desktops-laptops/l ... lim-laptop
If it had a touchscreen, I would be seriously considering it. Too bad it doesn't, so I am holding on to my Sony Pro 13 (13.3" FHD touchscreen, 2.33 lbs)

That is very light and thin. However, there is no way the keyboard would be decent and the durability would be pretty poor. Such thin systems sacrifice too much functionality. Neat system, nevertheless.

Normally I don´t like The Verge so much as they always seem biased towards saying "Apple is the gold standard and everything else is bad", but in this case, they have a few points: http://www.theverge.com/2015/10/14/9529 ... ram-review
TL;DR: LG is sacrificing too much to get this thin and light - build quality and durability suffers.
If you read around the internet, they are not the only ones with that verdict...

This falls under "trying too hard with little to show for it" and another glaring example of the "form over function" mentality that results in fundamentally flawed products.

Re: The lightest 14" laptop? (LG gram, 2.16 lbs)
And now LG has increased the screen size to 15.6", while keeping the weight at 2.2 lbs! Take a look at http://www.lg.com/us/laptops/lg-gram-15 ... lim-laptop
Too bad the resolution is only 1920x1080. I recently bought the Dell Inspiron 15-7568 2-in-1 laptop with 3840x2160 touchscreen, and actually find this a reasonable resolution for 15.6". I am scaling at 150%, so in a way it is 2560x1440, still much better than 1920x1080.

I saw one at a Micro Center the other day and it's super light and... mad flexible. It feels so flimsy. The keyboard flexes when gently pressed. It's insanely expensive too for what it is.

Heavy throttling expected here. I don't see a point of such overpriced laptop having zero real power.exTPfan wrote:And HP have produced a laptop that's only 10.4mm thick (yawn).
