IBM Asset Recovery

#1 Post by viper0007 » Mon Jun 06, 2005 8:24 am

I am thinking about using this to convert my old T20 to cash after I get my T43. Has anyone used this, and any comments on them?

The prices they appear to offer really are not all that bad!

I've considered but haven't used due to too many unknowns such as not being able to find anyone who has used the service. How long does it take to get your money? What happens if they find the RAM or something is not the original FRU? Or the battery's no good? If you don't like what they end up offering how much do you have to pay to get your notebook back?

So I sell on eBay and do about the same or often much better. Even after the eBay and PayPal fees.

Please, if you decide to call them concerning this offering, post what you are told!!

I called and they said that it does not matter where the memory came from as long as it is compatible with the system (they also accept Dells/HP and a few other systems) It takes less than 30 days for them to cut a check. The fellow didn't have much to say about systems that don't meet their standards.

Thanks Viper!
I'd posted a question similar to yours awhile ago, didn't get much response.
