T60 hibernates if not used after having been awaken

#1 Post by drharri » Mon Dec 07, 2015 4:42 pm

When I've waken up my T60 (Windows XP) from hibernation but then don't use it (i.e., give it commands with its touchpad or keyboard) in about five minutes, it goes back to hibernation.

How very annoying!

This often happens right at the moment when I would start using the machine.

In power settings I have: Plugged in: System hibernates: Never. Running on batteries: After 20 mins. The system is always plugged in.

Is this behaviour by design?

Can this hibernate when plugged in when system hibernates never when plugged in feature be disabled, and if yes, how?

It's by design of Windows XP. I am not certain whether there is a way to disable this.
