X230 camera not working after an upgrade to windows 10

#1 Post by tahirjadoon » Thu Dec 10, 2015 12:10 pm

I have upgraded my x230 to windows 10. When i run the camera app or skype, i get white camera icon with a white link across it. However, led light right next to the camera turns on, so i guess some setting somewhere is not enabled.

I have checked lenovo settings (fn+f6), unlike windows 8 https://www.itsupportguides.com/tech-ti ... t-working/, on windows 10 there is no "normal" button to enable. Here the camera preview shows the same white camera image with a line through it.

Then i went to windows settings and camera and all the options displaying here are "on".

I have tried upgrading the camera driver and that didn't work as well.

I have also checked device drivers and the all seems normal here, no warning symbols with any devices.

I had the same problem and fixed it by installing Lenovo settings and changing the privacy setting on the camera.
But it sounds like your already have the app - could it be the wrong version?
