Analog sound - Dock - W540 - use computer analog output

#1 Post by Symbiot78 » Mon Dec 21, 2015 4:12 am

hi

at work I have a w540 sitting in a thinkpad pro dock.
I usually use my headphones to listen to music.. these are just standard earplugs with analog mini-jack.
now while the computer is in the dock the analog output connector seems to be disabled. If I move the headphone to the output connector on the back of the dock, then sound is fine. But moving it to the computers output and there's no sound..

Problem is that headphones cannot reach from the back of the dock to the position where I sit.. but using the computers output plug and it's ok..

Any thoughts on how I can reenable the output in the computer?

You can't but you could get an extension cord like this: http://www.ebay.com/itm/181404159146
