X200 memory compatibility 8GB single slot

Hi guys,

I have a X200 tablet with 2GB and a X201 currently with 4GB and I am complementing an upgrade to 8GB for both units.

I know this can be done with 2x4GB for each machine, but what about a single 8GB memory on each? These are way more common and cheap nowadays

The machine won't POST with a single 8GB DIMM. 2x4GB is the best you can do.
