X220 Thinklight stays on

Hello - If there is a post which addresses this problem, please let me know. If not here is my problem.

I bought a used X220 on fleabay. It appears to be in top condition -- except the think light. It stays on and does not respond to Fn Page up. The OSD shows the "thinklight off" icon, but does not shut the light off. I tried opening and closing the screen and at a certain angle the light shuts off! At that point, the Fn+PgUp screen toggles the Thinklight on and off. What could be the problem?. Is this something I can fix by myself easily?. Any suggestions will be appreciated.

Edit: Pressing the bottom right of the screen (where x200 is printed), shuts the thinklight off..

Methinks your LCD-cable needs to be replaced.
It includes the wiring for the Thinklight.
