T420 Intel Managment Engine driver update problem

The download I get from Lenovo's website for the Intel Management Engine version 7.1.80.1211 will not install on my fresh Win 7 install from the recovery discs. According to Lenovo's site it's compatible with my computer but the driver install software says my computer doesn't meet the minimum requirements and automatically cancels the install. My current version is 7.0.0.1144. I want to update all of my hardware drivers first. Then I will update windows 7 through windows update. Then I will add programs. I have already uninstalled the bloatware that I don't want like Norton Security, etc... I haven't done anything else since the fresh install other than some other hardware driver updates. Any ideas on why this update won't install?

Something must be wrong with the autorun feature of the downloadable exe file. When i go into the extracted files folder and use the install file it works.

You should make sure you have TVSU version 5, then run that.
AFAIK the recovery CDs come with V4
