Replacement options: 410i L/R trackpad buttons

#1 Post by jaspen-meyer » Tue Jan 19, 2016 6:55 pm

The left and right buttons on the trackpad of my T410i stopped working all of the sudden.
Rather than replace the entire keyboard bezel assembly, is it possible to just replace the buttons, or even the entire trackpad assembly, with the touchpad assembly out of a T400 or R400?

Failing that, what are my other options?
T420 Ivy Bridge i7 3612QM, x24 xiphmont led, x60s libreboot, led, T400 libreboot, (in progress testing Q9100)

T410/T410i and T400s/T410s/T410si can all use the same keyboards.
T400/R400 use different keyboards.
However, those touchpad keys are part of the palmrest, not part of the keyboard!

The touchpad keys can probably be replaced with one of these: http://www.ebay.com/itm/261841324697

You can check if your T400/R400 has the same part, I couldn't get info on that.
