X61 tablet multitouch quit working correctly

#1 Post by bobcardone » Sun Jan 24, 2016 8:55 am

Hi all,
My trusty X61T multitouch has recently developed a problem with the finger multitouch feature.
Both the pen and finger input have worked fine until about two weeks ago, when the finger input decided to go bonkers.
When trying the finger touch, the pointer now never gets to the edges of the screen, and does not accurately reproduce finger location.
I did a pen recalibration, and the problem still remained.
The pen touch works flawlessly.
Specs are win 7 X64, 128gb SSD and 4gb RAM.
The machine has had the same install of win 7 for about 2 years, and all functions worked fine.
Then, for no apparent reason the finger touch weirded out.
I figured it might be a Windows problem, so I did a fresh install with all the appropriate drivers.
No dice... the problem still exists.
Any suggestions on what caused this, and any possible solutions?

OOPS I feel like a real dunce.
There is a "touch settings" calibration in Control Panel.
I ran it, and all is well.
