Or should I just throw the box into a cardboard recycling bin?
In my defence: I have never encountered tension film before. After ruining it I looked it up, and it seems like a really cool packaging technique.
(I hope I posted this to the right place. I couldn't figure out where to post it)
I cut the tension film in a lenovo box (I am an idiot). Is there any recourse?

Yeah it's ruined, throw it into the bin and either ask for another box from Lenovo (if it needs to be one of their boxes), or ship it in something equivalent.
