Windows 10 upgrade issue

My wife was given a T410 refurb as a birthday gift (against my advice). I already have 3 computer desktops and one basic laptop that are all operating and performing well. But now I have a 5th puter T410 Thinkpad that I will have to care for and maintain because my wife doesn't have a clue about technical maintenance or use.

Although the Thinkpad runs fairly well it does not have the HD size or memory capability that I would prefer from any puters we own, use, or maintain. Nevertheless that's not the problem I have with this Thinkpad, which came installed with Windows 7 pro, meaning it qualifies for a Windows 10 upgrade, and it did have the 10 upgrade icon showing after all of Win 7 updates. So I naively thought I could do the 10 upgrade with virtually no loss of apps, preferences and settings.

The Windows 10 upgrade was successful....twice....since I had to roll it back twice because 10 apparently is not compatible with the Bluetooth software which evidently was entirely responsible for finding and maintaining my network connection, so when I upgraded to 10 I was also advised with a message that the Bluetooth software had been removed or otherwise de-activated.

This Thinkpad is a new experience for me (as well as Bluetooth which I don't believe I have on any of my devices) and not the same as any of my other puters which have no trouble connecting in my network using my WIFI passphrase. I should add other (familiy) devices can also share my DSL connection merely by searching for my network host name and entering that passphrase...then being set for life as it were from that time forward. But not the T410. Trying to use the same connect procedure on the 410 as I can on any other puter or device within range, I get no access or otherwise not connected to a network message. So I'm back to Windows 7 for the second time after rolling back twice so that my wife can connect again on her Thinkpad, apparently through my network.

Looking into the Thinkpad device manager there seems to be network adapter(s) other than Bluetooth I should be able to use to search for and connect with my network WIFI, and I have tried doing that a few different ways, but no cigar so far. I don't know what I'm missing here, or would I have to buy a laptop network adaptor to plug into any of the USB ports on the Thinkpad?

Anyone have suggestions, answers, or solutions? Maybe I should forget Win 10 altogether and be happy with Win 7?

I don't know what else I can say in the way of data or info with regard to my efforts and findings, but I will of course be willing to provide anything I can, so please ask. Thanks!

Things to be noted. I dont know if your home router using PEAP auth aka WPA2-Enterprise.
I do have a problem on every win10 to connect through PEAP despite its a thinkpad or not. Only after I upgraded my AD server to windows 2012 R2, the problem goes away.
As for the bluetooth driver. I believe you can force thinkpad to use win7 driver.
Do that manually through the device manager.

Not sure what you're suggesting is applicable to my issue, because I don't use WPA2-Enterprise. If I recall it was just WPA. Also, on the back of the Thinkpad case is a M$oft tag with the advice "Windows 7 pro for refurbs". Wouldn't that be virtually OEM OS eliminating any driver conflict issue?

If Bluetooth annoys you, take it out!
It sits under the palmrest, see HMM (follow HMM-link at top of page) how to remove it.
