T60 14.1 Both windows 7 and XP will not detect ethernet controller in device manager.

But wireless works and wireless switch works, and bios for ethernet controller are all enabled. What else to check? I even plugged into ethernet network. The T60 motherboard was a replacement from ebay, seller did not mention about it.

If not, I'm looking at getting a T60p because LCD is a 1400x1050 to my surprise.

Do you have any 'Unknown devices' in device manager? Almost everytime I've installed windows on any machine, the network controller is shown as an 'unknown device' and needs the relevant drivers needed. Have you installed the driver? It's often a separate driver to the mobo chipset and other drivers..
