x220 tablet - webcam lens cover alternative

hi there,

i have an x220 tablet and recently added a webcam module to the display.
however, the original lens cover is blacked out (since there was no webcam before).

does anybody know where i can find a transparent lens cover? it's not listed as a seperate FRU.

You'll have to either make one yourself, or try to "unblacken" the cover, or buy a new LCD-bezel with clear cover.

i was indeed looking at complete bezels or even damaged x220t's for parts, but its rather expensive for a tiny piece of plastic.
the black stuff does come off when scratching. i'll try to do it nicely without damaging the cover. will post the results later.

rakothinkspare on ebay (he is in Spain so postage not crippling within Europe) has sold me some before, although i was after the full plastic fascia stuff and got these as an afterthought
