miniPC wifi card replacement for 100 Mb is it possible?

I own x60 tablet and will soon have 100 Mb internet. At present, my notebook has 54 Mb card. Is it possible to replace wifi card from higher model with 100 Mb speed for my laptop? Will it be working properly or will I need to do some tweaks?

If you don't want to apply modded BIOS, Lenovo (Atheros-chipped) abgn card FRU 42T0825 or 42T0827 is your best bet. You'll get a solid 300Mbps link with it.

a 300 mbps wifi connection is only going to deliver 150~200 mbps of real throughput in best case scenario, like being in the same room with the router.

if you want to take full advantage of a 100mbps internet, a 300mbps wifi is the lowest speed acceptable.

I I would like to mode my bios and buy other than you gave above, where to seek moded bios and all the instruction how to do it? i can't find any wifi card with fru 42T0825 or 42T0827 so I want to buy with different fru but don't know to dill with the bios issue.
Finally, can you tell me which nr models will work after bios mod?
