I wonder if it was added by mistake. Anyway, you could build a new X201 by buying all new replacement parts, do an IPS AFFS display mod, and it would end up being significantly cheaper than $1000. The money would be better spent on a frankenpad, though.

I don't believe so. A couple of years ago they had an R52 (!) which was priced similarly to this X201...

Only if one doesn't account for the labour involved...otherwise, even at a reasonable rate - say $80/hr - you'd hit that $1K pretty fast when building a X201 from scratch...

They might have just pulled it out...too bad it was just a standard X201. I could think of a couple of older models where I'd dish out $1K for one in a NIB condition without blinking an eye...X201 would not be amongst them, though.
