#1 Post by TheMagicT410 » Sat Mar 05, 2016 11:37 am

hello. i am not sure if the best screen for the lenovo thinkpad t410 is only up to 1440x900 as i have that one on mine and it says on the lenovo website it goes up to 1440x900 but in some cases i see people have 1600x900 ones instead of the 1440x900 or the 1280x800 one i am thinking of getting it when i have the money as im planning to get a 500gb ssd the best screen availible and the best Nvidia motherboard to max the crap out of my t410 as i currently have 8gb of ram and a i7 640m (yea ik ik it wasnt an option to get a i7 640m with it but did some looking up and it supports my socket as i have a pga988 and the Qm57 chipset aswell so i bought it and works very well and i get a score on cpu-z stress test of 2200+ not bad for a 6 year old monster!) thanks if u can tell me. i love my t410 and want it to last as long as i can your aswners will be greatly apprecaited!

Typing comprehensibly hardly takes longer than producing gibberish. It's just a matter of getting used to it.

As for the T410, the highest resolution screen you can get is 1440x900. In terms of quality, the G141C1-L01 is the only IPS-like screen (MVA) that might fit into the T410. However, I am not aware of anyone who has ever done this mod.

There is a desktop monitor with 1900x900, but a laptop LCD with that resolution is unlikely (at least with Lenovo).
Max. available on T410 is 1440x900, as 600X already mentioned.

There exist 1600x900 screens from other suppliers, but you most likely will have to make your own LCD-cable and LED-panel.

Not to mention modding the lid from 16:10 to 16:9....

I'm not aware of anyone who has actually performed such a mod...nor would I waste my time on it. For those who want a 14" 16:9 system, T420 is a rather obvious choice...

That was with an X200, but interesting nevertheless. Even if you were to do such a mod with a T410, I see little point when you could get a T420 and have the ability to easily mod it with FHD IPS display (mainly 's' models, but regular ones will work, but with a couple minor issues atm).
Current Thinkpads: W530 (functional classic keyboard mod), X301, T61, T60, T43, T23, 600X, 770
Other: mk5 Toughbook cf-19, mk1 Toughbook cf-53

Guy must have posted that on a phone. I have a couple of 410s and while I like them, I wouldnt be spending too much on them as they are 1st gen Core i5 laptops... they are fast enough but they do run hot and power hungry.

I'm not about to pay upwards of a $100 on a screen for a sub $100 laptop... you're better off as people say, getting a T420 w/900p screen and seeing how that goes. That laptop at least has some options on screens and even 3rd gen cpus if you're brave.
