Regarding the integrated graphics adapter on your T430: is it the one with only HD 4000 or the one with HD 4000 + Nvidia card (Optimus)?

Currently using i5-3220 M with HD 4000 and planning to build decent eGpu, at least something that could smoothly run Fallout 4 in medium settings.

My T430 only has Intel GPU, it doesn't have Nvidia. The only Nvidia I have is my external GPU.

Assuming you buy powerful enough card, you should have no issues running Fallout 4 in eGPU build. eGPU requires laptop not to have dedicated GPU, but in case of business Thinkpads you can disable them in BIOS as far as I know, so even if you had dGPU it wouldn't really be an issue.

Waiting for a power adapter for my eGPU EXP GDC V8 ExpressCard solution but it will be with a Gigabyte Radeon 6850 OC graphic card.
