New here, have a few questions

#1 Post by djcarter » Thu Jun 09, 2005 3:11 am

First off I'm new, my names Dj.

Well I have this old laptop that was given to me, I am going to be using it as a trail laptop for my gps system in my jeep. Although before I can do that I need to do a few things.

On to my question, I need to know the model number, the closest thing I can find is the TYPE: number which reads:9545-6BD

Hi DJ,

It's a 755CSE, 486DX4/100, 10.4" VGA DSTN (DualScan) display, at least 11 years old.

I wouldn't bother attempting setting this up for GPS, no modern Cardbus PC card based system (32BIT) will work with this 16BIT system. Nor will the DSTN display be up to the task of providing adequate resolution to distinguish position anywhere near the accuracy GPS is capable of.

I can appreciate that this unit is attractive as a gimme, but I fear getting it to work as a GPs in your jeep would be an exercise in futility.

Regards,

James
