TP540 wired connection limited to 100 megabit on gigabit switch

#1 Post by CharlesF » Mon Apr 11, 2016 5:13 pm

The wired connection on my TP54p (Window 7 x64) is limited to 100 megabits even though (I believe) the TP540 NIC is gigabit capable?

The Access Connection tray icon indicates that the link is operating at 100 megabits (As does the port on the gigabit switch). When I walk through creating a location profile the NIC speed drop down list does not show a gigabit option.

Could this be a problem with Access Connections? Should I uninstall AC and see what Windows internal stuff does.

Incidentally, my three older XP Thinkpads (R500) all operate at gigabit speeds.

Any thoughts are appreciated.

Charles
