Most durable Flexview Screens?

From what I have read, the T60p Flexview screens need to be handled with care, but I was wondering if there are any specific versions that are more durable and long lasting than others? At the moment, I understand that the SXGA+ LG displays dim and develop yellow corners quicker than the rest.

Also, how do these screens compare in quality + durability with the Flexview ones in the T4*?

Define "durability"...

All of these panels are CCFL-lit and the youngest ones are nearing its ninth or so birthday...

There are some -101 Hydis panels floating around in NOS condition from time to time, but they need the EDID flashed in order to be used on *6x series units. They will work OOB on older 15" ThinkPads. If you're keen on non-LED screens this is likely your best option, but expect to dish out around $200 for such an example.

If you want a display that isn't going to be sensitive over time, I'd go with a boe-hydis LED.

The Hydis LED screen would be the best, but it is insanely expensive. I should have mentioned I am more interested in how the CCFL ones fair over time.

My SXGA+ is upgraded to LED which eliminates problems like backlight fade and uneven lighting. However, it is still prone developing dust spots (or however you call them), so the Hydis is probably the best either way, no matter if CCFL or LED.

Whichever screen you can locate in NOS condition will serve you well. Everything else pretty much boils down to personal preference.

Thanks for the replies everyone. I was considering geting a 15" T60p and use its original screen, but it looks like I am better off getting a NOS one to avoid any issues.

You should be very careful when you are getting a used one.
The left one is mint UXGA ID Tech, mentioned in my recent thread, the right one - used SXGA+ that I`ve got from ebay.

Depending on how much it is, it may just be cheaper to get a Hydis LED from china and go from there (then that kills two birds with one stone: not having to worry about a worn out bulb, and the fact it's not a bulb display).
