Screen Hinges on X1C Gen1

#1 Post by grunger106 » Mon May 09, 2016 5:59 am

Coming from an X220/T430 (and lots of other X/T series) there seems to be a lot of movement/play in the hinges of the 2nd hand X1C Gen1 I've just got.
The screen is solid when it's up in its position, and doesn't wobble or feel bad at all - but you can kind of move it forward slightly before the hinge actually starts to move, almost like the screen moves up ever so slightly before the hinge engages.

Is this just what they are like? It's obviously a very different sort of hinge arrangement than on the X/T series, so maybe I'm just not used to it!

Those hinges have a nut that you can tighten up to adjust them.
Just remove all the bottom-screws, and use a plectrum to lift off the KB-panel.
Don't play too much with the lid while the KB-panel is off!
