x230 4k Display Problem

#1 Post by overcast » Mon May 23, 2016 3:22 pm

I am having trouble getting my x230 to display at higher resolutions than 1366x768, they all display at 1280x720.

I tried both updating and rolling back the Intel HD 4000 drivers.
I am using a Phillips 4065UC 4k monitor via displayport to minidisplayport in. I tried the screen with another computer and it displayed fine at the full 4k resolution.

Intel HD4000 supports 2560x1440 maximum. There's no way you can drive 4K monitor with it.
For those who interested in buying X220/X230 FHD kit: Read this before sending me a PM!

Ok, but the 4k monitor supports 2560x1440. Why when I set it for that will it not display? I am sure its a HD4000 problem and not the monitor. I think it is all displayport limited.

I got 2048x1152 to display at 1365x768 at 30 hz. Its still doing this 'halving' thing at best in what it displays.

Any ideas? I dont want to have to get rid of the laptop if this is a software fix.
