T42 - No USB 2.0 issue

Hi,

I bought a T42 recently that had a clean XP install and nothing else. I've installed all the IBM software I can find but the computer still doesn't have USB 2.0 support. USB works (v1 I guess) but I'm pretty sure the T42 supports USB 2.0

Can anyone tell me how to sort this?

I had the same problem with my 42p, and could not find anything on the IBM website to help. What I did to enable USB 2 was the following, though I don't know if it is the "correct" solution:

My Computer
Properties
Hardware
Device Manager
USB Controllers
Host Controller - right click, & update driver via Windows Update

So you mean this is probably a software issue instead of a hardware one?

My almost-2-years-old T40 recently had the same problem, and I don't have a clue yet.

I checked my T-42 with working USB 2.0 and all USB drivers installed are Microsoft drivers, so a Windows update should be the 'correct' solution.

My T40 started to have USB 2.0 problem a couple of days ago. I tried to bring it back to factory content, update all the drivers, but occasionally, the problem occur again and again.

I am almost desperate now.
