x201 tablet board too picky?
x201 tablet board too picky?
Hi,
I "upgraded" my good old X200T by installing a X201T board. All works fine, but I'm having problems with the wifi cards, it seems that the X201T board (last BIOS, 1.40) has almost all wifi cards blackisted. The 5350 I had installed with the x200t board (and with wich I was very happy) isn't accepted by the new board (error 1802). I've tried with a 6200 from my x220 and with a 5300. Same problem. Only an old 5100 I had lying around at home works.
Once, this X201T gave me a 1802 error with the wwan card (ericsson 3507g), but only once, next time it booted normally and the WWAN card seems to have been accepted.
Is there any list where one can find exactly wich cards are in the whitelist? It's annoying that cards that are supposed to be accepted by the X201 aren't...
I've tried a whitelisted BIOS I found on the net, but it was a very old version, and the laptop gave me an 8 beep warning before every boot, so I reinstalled the latest stock BIOS. Is there a reliable whitelisted BIOS (up-to-date and without beep warnings)? I'm looking for one, but there are a lot of dead links...
edit: Ericsson F3507g is accepted (no error 1802), but not recognized...

To get rid of the beeps, you need to disable the Security Chip in BIOS.

That older 1.32 BIOS is what I had installed.
This russian download link to the 1.40 BIOS directs you to an installer fully loaded of malware (and disguised as a .rar). Now knowing the name of the rar, I googled it and I found a working copy in 4shared. I don't know if it is allowed to post links to 4shared here, so I'm not posting it at the moment.
I've installed the modified BIOS and everything works fine, I could reinstall my Intel 5350 and it works. Only the Ericsson WWAN card isn't still being recognized.

I've registered there with an old e-mail address that I only use for this sort of things. But it would be nice to have this archive avaliable in some other cyberlocker in order that it can be accessed without registration/FB/twitter/etc. If you know one, I could upload there the downloaded rar with the BIOS...
