Looking for: "Historic" Laptop AST Ascentia 950N

#1 Post by friedrich-eugen » Tue Jun 21, 2016 4:53 am

Hello,

looking for an older (90ties) Laptop, intend to keep it - together with my A31P - as historic pieces of technical progress.

I do have a 910N and a 950N both TFT-displays, both colours, the 950N-display with rare 11,8". In order to rebuild these I need spare parts and if possible some kind of hardware manual or technicians help...

On ebay and the wwweb there are very very few parts around, if any.

Any offers welcome!

started with IBM-XT (80186) and AST-Ascentias NB (910N) in the 90ties, relying on Thinkpads (770X, A31Ps) until 2012,
now using an upgraded T60-61P "Frankenpad" (15"UXGA-LED Penryn 8GB 500GB/7200), and an X201/X230T (i7 8/16GB/500GB) Windows10

This brings back memories.
AST did a bit of original designs... I still have my premmia 4/66d, it was well above the competitors
