ThinkPad T420 Wireless WAN

My newly acquired T420 has support for Wireless WAN. How do I get to try it?

The Lenovo site lists several different drivers, and I have no idea which to use...

I would have thought that Lenovo Service Bridge would have known which to grab...

I have it configured now - it's a Sierra Wireless MC8355...

Trouble is... I don't know how to get it working...

I've put in a sim from my Tablet which works fine but in my ThinkPad I'm told that my mobile subscription is either inactive or has expired. An IMEI number is shown but have no idea what that relates to. Maybe I just need to activate it...
