560x power-up issue

#1 Post by varicella » Sat Jun 11, 2005 4:47 pm

Hi everyone,

I have recently acquired a 560x not too long ago and it was happily running. 2GB HDD didn't take too long to fill and I decided to upgrade the HDD. I took apart the laptop and exchanged the HDD. THe laptop boots up fine when it is running from AC power. Somehow during the procedure of replacing the HDD, I messed up the power-up routine via battery. I am pretty sure that the CMOS battery is not a problem *I even replaced it with a fresh one.* The power LED indicates that the battery is fully charged *the LED is green and the battery was fully charged before I performed the HDD swap.*

If anyone has any suggestions or tests I can do to figure out why the 560x does not boot via battery anymore that would be great. Even commenting on my post would be cool too *this is my first post.*

Thank you in advance.
