Which RAM from Crucial? Help Plz

#1 Post by T41mbi » Sun Jun 12, 2005 6:55 am

Hey

I have an IBM Thinkpad T41p (Model: 2373-GEM) and am wanting to buy a 1GB RAM chip from Crucial but cant find my model number on their list... the "2373" series is only T41 and I can only find the T41p with model 2379...

Can someone knowledgeable in this area please point me in the right direction?

THanks

As long as it's DDR PC2700 it will be fine. P or non-P use the same RAM if it's the same intel chipset.

Mmm

Then why do the different models (e.g. Thinkpad 2373 T41 and 2379 T41p) have different part numbers for the same type of RAM if they are compatible?

I just checked on this. It looks like Crucial is building a part number based on the model you select, but they both point to the same memory module.

You want a 1GB DDR PC2700 SODIMM, CL2.5. It doesn't matter what part number they fall under, they will all work the same.
Apathy is on the rise, but nobody seems to care.
