ThinkPad T43P / Audio Analog Devices AD1981B & Win 7
ThinkPad T43P / Audio Analog Devices AD1981B & Win 7
I have a ThinkPad T43P with a Audio Analog Devices AD1981B AC97 Soft Audio card. I have loaded win 7 Pro and cannot get the audio to work. I have tried several drivers but none worked. The device manager says is ok but no sound. When I click on the speaker icon it comes up and I can see the sound moving up & down but again no sound. The sound was working in Win XP. Any ideas?

Windows Update found a working audio driver for my T43 Windows 7 installation. Uninstall your present audio driver and let Windows Update install the driver which is listed below.
Analog Devices driver update for SoundMAX Integrated Digital Audio
Analog Devices 10/10/2006 Version 5.12.1.5450

1. Play a music or audio file
2. Press the hardware volume up button multiple times
3. Press the hardware mute button
All thinkpads before the T61 used hardware level media keys, so it is possible that the speakers are still set at the minimum level or on mute, even though the windows control panel lists the volume as being on.

Thanks for all the help. I have the correct driver loaded. Nothing is muted or disabled. Still no sound from speakers, ear phone jack or USB earphones. I am totally lost with this issue, this is not my first rodeo but this one has thrown me.
Any other suggestions?????
