IBM X40 pictures

#1 Post by elmalloc » Sun Jun 12, 2005 8:38 pm

Hello,

Here are the X40 pictures I promised. I received this laptop a few weeks ago, and it has crippled my desktop - I hardly ever turn my desktop on anymore (looks like it's regulated to a gaming machine now).

The laptop has perfect form factor.

Thanks for the great photos. The palm rest looks way better than the touchpad one on my T :)

I never realized it was possible to play GT4 on a ThinkPad. A quick googling revealed that GT is only released for PS2. Do you emulate it, or do you have some obscure PC conversion in your possesion?

I shouldn't think that the graphics processor in a X laptop would be anywhere near capable of emulation a GFX heavy task such as PS2 emulation.

Wish I had bought an X instead of T. It's breaking my back.

Nope, the GT wheel was connected to the TV in front of it (not the PC). =)

I pretty much beat GT4 completely so I sold it, it's a great driving simulator. That logitech force feedback wheel (made for GT4) is used in arcades in japan.

It's also used in an IMAX arcade that costs $1 per minute, I played that for 5 minutes - it's crazy. I can see that doing well in USA...the seats move when you brake hard and make turns, and move back when you accelerate hard, it feels realistic.

The IMAX is fun because other people can sit with you (for free), it just costs $1/minute to play.

I'm still using my laptop vigorously.
The 330 car just got in a crash yestrday, a lady in a white mini van side swiped me. It looks lke the driver side door and rear quarter panel need replacing (at the least).

I've almost tried to convince mysel fI need another X laptop, but I don't know the reason - the thing rules.

wow we have alot
in common;
IBMs, I also drive a 3 series BMW and I have Neal Stephonson Snow Crash in my collection, I also enjoyed every episode of Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles growing up...
but I don't play video games or have any...
nice set up....

So it seems that you load the video games onto your IBM and play it off the flat screen, interesting...

Hello,
Cool pic's. I want to see how X series ThinkPad looks from bottom and
how it looks when u twist and make it in a form of Tablet. I mean twist
in 360 degree's to use it as a slate. :D And i am curious to see left hand
side panel of X series ThinkPad® notebook.

Regards,
Amey Abhyankar.

ha, BMW are tough cars I have a 330xi and a MTA bus sideswiped me after 6 months on the road, then 3 months later a woman in a huge Land Rover Discovery hit me fro the back and the drivers side whiles trying to cut me off.
I'm still alive and my car pretty much survived both collisions with minor fender dents and broken off wing mirrors. You shouldda seen that bus though...jking.

Anyrate whats killing me is the insurance for being under 25 and a new driver and owning a BMW....
its crazy what I pay.

back to topic.....
so the X series IBM are as good as they are cute, huh?
