Does anyone on this forum also belong to the Guru3D forum? I need some Nvidia GPU advice for a project that a technician friend of mine is working on, but both of us have been unable to register for Guru3D. We get no e-mail confirmation of the registrations, and attempts to reach the administrators through the email page on their own site also received no response.
I figure the only way around this is to find someone who belongs to the forum, who can inform the administrators of this problem. We need to register. Possibly the owner administrator of the site has a working email address, which could be obtained.
Thanks

Re: MXM Project Guru3D
Nobody on this big forum belongs to Guru3D?
Does anyone have any specialized knowledge of Nvidia mobile GPUs? My tech friend accomplished an MXM upgrade, but is having problem achieving full brightness with the dual lamp backlit display. Apparently the card is only telling one of the lamps to illuminate the screen. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks

Re: MXM Project Guru3D
I'm still hoping that someone with GPU and Nvidia knowledge will see this thread.
So my technician friend discovered something interesting using the related Nvidia Quadro 2700M in an HP 8730.
When the 8730 is on battery the screen only gets so bright. Even with the brightness turned all the way up it still looks significantly dimmer than on AC. Is it possible that there is a pin or sensor or something present on the 8730w that tells the MXM card it is on AC rather than battery? If this is true, is it possible that the HDX Dragon has no such pin or sensor, and that is why the 3700M remains somewhat dim?
With respect to the ThinkPad W700 equipped with the 3700M, does the screen operate at full brightness when in battery mode?
One last point/question. The 3700M used in the ThinkPad appears to have an extra capacitor compared to the 3700M used in the HP8730. Could this be the culprit?
