Card Reader Blue Screens - Anyone Else???

#1 Post by ArtShapiro » Thu Sep 29, 2016 5:47 pm

I have three machines with inbuilt cardreaders - an X61, an R61, and a T500. With the last two releases of Windows 10, including yesterday's build 14396, I'm getting consistent bluescreens upon removing the SD chip from the card reader, or upon doing the formal "eject" from the tray icon. It is usually, but not always, "WORKER INVALID".

As none of these machines officially support Windows 10, I'm on my own on this one, but am curious if others are experiencing the same failure mode. It's 100% reproducible for me.

I do not encounter this issue with a T500 running the latest Windows 10.
Daily driver: lenovo T500 P9700, WUXGA, 8GB
Ultraportable: IBM lenovo X60s
Home theater: lenovo T420

This turned out to be a Windows 10 problem specifically fixed by today's Build 14959. It had plagued me for months.
