T440 Intel 7260-WiFi

I was surprised that my "new to me" T440 didn't have 5Ghz WiFI but I see that's been mentioned many/many times with never a mention of what was used to do dual-band. I found a reference that hinted there wasn't a Lenovo "this works install it". It seems that dual-band was either included with very few or NONE. That would seem odd. I might actually like to have the option.

You can replace your Wi-Fi card by a dual-band card.

I recently replaced the 7260 in my T440p. I researched the appropriate FRU from here: https://support.lenovo.com/us/en/documents/pd100192

For my T440p, I determined that the dual-band, 802.11ac part I needed was 04x6007. Please research your model carefully, if not T440p, your FRU may be different.

I searched for '04x6007' and found a reliable seller on Ebay. I replaced the card in my laptop and everything works quite well!

Thanks for the post - it appears that the mentioned card should do my machine as well. I'll likely get one of those from an Ebay seller or maybe a shop here local. I had actually used the lenovo documents but overlooked the one you mentioned. The Indonesian one I had seen but at the time I found no reference to the FRU.

Is the eBay seller someone you've bought other hardware from?

I hadn't bought from them previously, but, based on their reputation and feedback comments, I bought from them and it all went perfectly. They are Ebay user quality_it_eq.

Thank you for the original post WVZR1 and the recommendation chili555. I ordered the wifi card and two memory doors (with 2 screws each for 2 x220 machines) from the person quality_it_eq. I had two questions that I sent to them and they responded quickly.

I did the suggested 04X6007 mentioned from a "local" re-cycler who didn't know why he actually had it and all is well. I visit them frequently. If they have anything of interest they usually offer it at the eBay "trending" or less. It's just my first stop.
