Has anyone ever looked into whether it's possible to modify the system beeps controlled by the BIOS on a Thinkpad?
I see a lot of people asking how to turn them off completely, which I do know how to do, but I actually like having the system beep as a hardware confirmation of going to sleep or plugging in the AC cord. I just wish the beeps could be changed to make them shorter and less intrusive. I'd also like to be able to completely disable the wake from sleep beep.
I noticed that my T61 has a much shorter sleep beep than my Z61t, so it seems like the beeping is controlled by the BIOS and that means might be something I could customize maybe?
Anyone here know anything?
