Hi All,
I'm thinking about buying the Thinkpad X1 Yoga and currently leaning towards the FHD (1920x1080) option due to the fact I'm not sure how useful increased resolution would be on a 14" screen. I would more seriously consider the OLED model but the fact it has a glossy finish is kind of a negative for me. I'm also concerned about battery life and possible burn-in issues associated with OLED. I'm curious how the color and gamut of the WQHD IFD compares to the FHD model. Also the FHD doesn't list on the specs page as Anti-Glare, but the WQHD does. Is this correct?
14" WQHD (2560 x 1440) OLED, Touch, 300 nits
14" FHD (1920 x 1080) IPS, Touch, 300 nits
14" WQHD (2560 x 1440) IPS, Anti-Glare, 300 nits
Any advice on this decision is appreciated.
Thanks,
M

Re: X1 Yoga - Comparing Display Options
FHD is very low resolution on 14" size especially on a touchscreen device so I would skip it at all. Both Lenovo WQHD displays (LCD and OLED) suffer from very low PWM frequency, see the reviews below. As you already noted, OLED si prone to permanent image retention so there is not an easy choice. Given Lenovo use the worst screens available in premium price devices over and over don't expect any good results. AFAIK all touchscreens are always glossy.

Thanks for the reply!
From the link you provided about WQHD version...Puppy wrote:AFAIK all touchscreens are always glossy.
even though the panel is matte, the maximum brightness is simply not enough to overcome direct sunlight. We had better success in the shade, but an extra 100 nits would help out significantly.
