I have a very popular WinXP disc I've made, it has the latest service pack and sata drivers integrated into the disc, as well as all the critical updates that were available at the time I made it. It will also oem activate just like a lenovo disc if installed on a fresh partition. I was selling these with a used COA/license for $20, but could offer them for half if you want several of them, or if you just want the disc you can send whatever you feel is fair. I think at least 50 forum members have used this disc and even though it won't have your model specific drivers, but the original setup discs will have outdated drivers anyway, so it's usually much better to install the latest drivers and thinkpad apps. Also, windows 2000 even though a decent OS in it's time, always suffered from lack of support, and most w2k computers will run XP and it was one of the most popular OS of all time with wide hardware support, but if you do want w2k I have every version of windows made from the very first 1.0, upto 2005, and could make you discs for whatever you need, but I strongly suggest the WinXP pro disc, and just to be clear, it still has PATA/ide drivers, they weren't removed when I added SATA, which you may not need, but since microsoft never offered winxp with sata drivers, this disc has become very popular and I'm sure you will love it.
Also, not that I'd recommend it for a thinkpad, but I even have a stripped down version of XP called MicroXP, under 90mb .iso file that installs a basic no frills xp pro ideal for old computers that cannot handle a fully blown xp. IIRC you can run it on 32mb of ram. I had it installed on a win95 laptop with Pentium 133mhz and 64mb ram and it ran pretty stable, had it booting win95, microXP and DamSmallLinux.
I also have some Vista 32 and 64 bit discs and COAs with SP2 integrated, if you want a more modern OS. As long as you have a min of 1gb ram vista should run ok on most thinkpads, and with the latest service pack vista is a nice stable OS, comparable to win7, but much less $$$.
If any of this interests you, send me a PM and we can discuss it.
