I gave my laptop to my wife before her business trip.
I also looked up local access numbers for our ISP.
She dialed into the web and made all sorts
of arrangements for our vacation which was
immediately after her business trip.
She came from Los Angeles and I came from
Manchester, NH and we arrived in ABQ, New Mexicao.
I'd get reservation emails at home, look up sites
and print directions and file them and brought them with
me.
It was really cool to whip out a map of something.
This worked very well.

Actually the strange thing was the reservations would not be from her they would end up in my inbox from unknown email addresses and then I'd look at them.
It was kinda of like opening presents.
Usually we do this before hand but she had the flue just
before she left for LA and didn't have time.
The laptop really helped our vacation.
