Using 2 batteries on a Thinkpad with linux

Using 2 batteries on a Thinkpad with linux
I have recently purchased an Ultrabay bay battery for my T430s. I have noticed that the Ultrabay battery drains completely before the main battery begins to drain. Is the a way (on linux-Ubuntu) to toggle between the 2 batteries to make them live longer?
