WTB, New German Keyboard for T510/T520
WTB, New German Keyboard for T510/T520
Searching for a new German keyboard for T510/T520. Same unit used in the T410 and T420 as well.
Does anyone in Germany have a new one they will part with without me having to sell a kidney?

Hint: Check the German ThinkPad's forum; see e.g. here.
Also/alternatively, see Keyboard service parts - ThinkPad T510, T510i, W510 and/or Keyboard service parts - ThinkPad T410, T410i etc. and then shop around on e.g. eBay or buy directly from Lenovo/USA.

Your auction is listed in pounds. Do you have a good photo of the keys? Your auction states you will not post to the US.

Price is indeed in GBP. My mistake.
Shipping cost to US is about 30 GBP (economy) which most people find it excessive. Thats why I excluded US in the listiing.
However if you're still interestred I can ask for postage and delivery dates and let you know. Send me your full postal address in PM
I can send close up pictures. Keyboad is in pristine condition, replaced with a US one 1 week after I purchased the laptop.

Don't bother. But thanks anyway. I know postage is outrageous to the States. I do a lot of business in Germany.

Re: WTB, New German Keyboard for T510/T520
I take it that you live in the US? I happen to have an X220 with a German keyboard which I would gladly swap for a US keyboard, if you happen to have one. Only two problems:
a) not sure whether the T520 uses the same keyboard as the X220 but based on the photos it should be the exact same one
b) I need that laptop every single day to work with so I can't part with the keyboard before holding a replacement in hand
If you happen to live anywhere close to Austin, TX, we could meet and swap keyboards if you're interested.

It's got that typical Thinkpad ruggedness. Drop it, and your floor may be in serious danger.

It's not that far really: 13 h 15 min (879.0 mi). Nice weekend-trip?
Aside from that: X220 keyboards are identical to the Tx10/Tx20/Wx10/Wx20/Xx10/Xx20/ KBs.

How much wear/shine are on the keys? Spacebar, enter, T, S, C, etc? Do you have a photo? I'd be willing to ship you one of my T510 KB's on your word alone that you will ship the German keyboard upon receipt of mine.
My T510 KB has the barest hint of shine on the left Shift key and the right corner of the spacebar. This T510 is used with an external Model M keyboard and external mouse.
If you would like to swap, send me your particulars and I'll get mine out. Do you have any on-line references such as e-Bay, another computer forum etc? 16 posts here is not a lot.
