Sold* X61T Tablet PC

#1 Post by K0LO » Wed Nov 16, 2016 9:18 pm

For sale:
Lenovo model X61T Tablet PC, Type 7764CTO, S/N LVB7TPN in good working and cosmetic condition. I am the only owner and have used this tablet daily to teach all of my classes at Penn State University since its original purchase date in March 2009. Since I'm now retired, I'd like to see it go to a good home and am offering it for sale first to forum members.

Original Lenovo specs:

Intel® Core™ 2 Duo L7500 LV (1.6GHz, 4MB L2, 800MHz FSB)
Genuine Windows Vista Business
12.1" WVA XGA TFT, 2x2 UltraConnect II antenna
1 GB PC2-5300 DDR2 SDRAM 667MHz SODIMM Memory (1 DIMM)
160GB Hard Disk Drive, 7200rpm
No Bluetooth
Intel Wireless WiFi Link 4965AG (supporting Centrino Pro)
ThinkPad X61 Tablet 8 Cell Li-Ion Battery
7764: Express - 1 Yr Depot Warranty
740Y7696 ThinkPad and Lenovo 65W AC Adapter - with US/Canada/LA Line Cord

Additions/Changes/Extras since new:
Upgraded to 4 GB DDR2 SDRAM (2 DIMMs)
New after-market 65 W-Hr battery pack
2 additional pens included (3 total)
1 additional AC adapter included (same as original, 2 total)
Intermittent LCD interconnect cable replaced 2 years ago
Windows 10 Pro Anniversary Edition clean installed, activated, and up-to-date

I have run Vista, Windows 7, Windows 8, Windows 8.1, Windows 10 and various versions of Kubuntu Linux on this machine. IMHO, it runs the best with Windows 10 although some of the tablet buttons are not natively supported. The original factory recovery discs are included in case you want to revert to an older OS (Vista Business).

I am asking $100 $90 $80 $75 via PayPal only. The unit will be packed and shipped in the original Lenovo shipping container. You specify shipping method and pay shipping charges.

Consider this as a bump.

It looks in so nice condition and such, I'm not understanding why nobody is grabbing it

Because Core 2 Duo machines with those specs running Vista are not in great demand for today's needs.

That's not to say they cannot still be useful. I have a Vista machine too, but it only plays music or runs WX radar during bad weather.

I had an Intel X25M SSD in the tablet for most of its life. With an SSD, the speed and responsiveness is much improved.

This would make a nice Christmas gift for someone...

Again a bump (I'm unrelated with the seller, and it should not be a problem).

It's as good as it could be, and looks well cared for. I'm confident it'll find a new loving home soon ( if only i was not so far away... )
Don't be shy, contact the seller :)

What's the battery life like?

I just dug out my old X60 and with Windows 10 on it, this thing flies, but it would be nice to have a tablet model...

The battery life is 4 - 5 hours when doing normal tasks like word processing, spreadsheets, presentations, and web surfing. It's a brand-new aftermarket battery.

Yes, the speed with Windows 10 is much faster than the previous operating systems. If you swap out the hard disk for an SSD it's much, much faster.
